Brief Intro

Hi there!  I'm Jessica, crafter extraordinaire! I live in New Hampshire with my husband of 12 years, my two children, my cat and fish. I'm originally from Southern California, but have lived here since 2011.

I would call myself a Knitter first.  But It's so much more than that.  I started out as a cross-stitcher, and moved on to knitting, then crochet.  I do a bit of sewing, mostly project bags and a few simple dresses.  I learned to spin in 2015, then I learned to weave and this year I've been dabbling in embroidery.

Hence the name, textile-ophile.

I love textiles!  I love keeping my hands busy and making things out of wool and yarn, fabric and thread.

I knit a lot of socks, a lot of sweaters and shawls.  I always have a spinning project going, on my spinning wheel Edith (she's a Kromski Minstrel) and on at least one of my drop spindles.  And I have at least one long-term cross stitch project happening. Sewing and weaving go in and out, and I follow my passions where they lead.

I'm pretty intense, and I am nerdy.  and I'm hilarious.

I hope to enliven you with some of my exploits, entertain you a bit, and we can perhaps enrich each other.  I plan on updating blog with pictures and details about what I'm working on and what I'm planning on for the future.

Stay tuned!
